ViewMyRecords ( VMR ) is a 5 year old product start-up company started by serial entrepreneur Mr Milind Joshi , that offers an easy to use record management solution for both corporate and personal needs.

The Product

The product was envisioned as a always and everywhere available, easy to use records mangement product . Primary features required included optional high-end security and access control, collaboration capabilities as well as usable by individual non-professional users as well as skilled professionals ( consultants, doctors, lawyers , architects etc )

Key Requirement/Challenges

• Best of class enterprise record management capabilities with usability and prices that make it attractive for even individual users.
• Available always, from anywhere and using different devices. Key functionality like document scanning should be browser based.
• Security features including PKI based document encryption before storage to provide users confidence that their documents cannot be accessed even though it is in the cloud
• Domain specific capabilities augmented with customer specific configurability
• Support sharing and collaboration.

The Solution

• The application was layered with a back-end running a customized version of Alfresco and a simple / intuitive web/mobile front-end
• Infrastructure consists of a full open-source stack with Linux, Tomcat, Postgres and Solr and Alfresco Community Edition.
• Environments hosted on the cloud ( Azure, AWS )
• Alfresco customized to include an encrypted content store
• Web based scanning software used for scanning in the Spring based web layer
• Configurable template based domain model definition capability that enables quick building of a customer specific content model based on generic domain content models

Promantia Role

Promantia was involved in the product development right from the beginning in architecting the overall solution, designing, developing and maintaining the back-end (Alfresco) as well as managing the overall infrastructure.

Outcomes Achieved

Product has been in use for the last 4 years for both retail ( individual , family ) as well as corporate customers. Larger customers in the medical , logistics and construction domain have signed up for the product and the product is on a continued growth mode.
