Senior Functional Consultant

 

 Job Description

The person would act as the functional owner for one or more projects/engagements  and would be expected to work across its lifecycle with responsibilities that could include requirements gathering and functional solutioning,  solution verification, user training and providing functional support.

The role requires business analysts/ERP Implementation consultants with deep customer focus, excellent communication skills, a passion for quality and a flair for leadership.   The selected person should be willing to travel to customer locations and show flexibility to honour customer commitments.

Required Skills/Experience

Ther person should have a degree/post graduation in any stream with  3-8 years of relevant experience as a functional consultant/business analyst.

Other essential capabilities

  • Experience in functional solution definition and documentation
  • Experience in software verification by preparing and executing test plans
  • Capable of interacting independently with clients
  • Exposure to leading teams, planning and tracking projects, running meetings/workshops and reporting status.
  • Excellent communication – verbal, written and presentation – skills
  • Good analytical skills

Other desired capabilities

  • Experience in ERP implementation  
  • Experience in gathering and documenting requirements
  • Understanding and experience in using of agile methodologies
  • Understanding of accounting and finance concepts
  • Good modelling and model representation skills

Key responsibilities:

They include

  • Managing the product backlog based on the prioritization provided by the customer.
  • Tracking project progress on a daily basis by planning sprint activities,  monitoring progress and responding to changes in plans and issues/risks
  • Analyzing the customer needs as well as product capabilities and finding solutions to address them.
  • Showing proactiveness – understand  the customer context and suggest  improvements
  • Prepare documents like wireframes, design flow, UI etc., as and when required. 
  • Designing test cases for various situations, including functional, integration, smoke, stress, and performance and execute and track test results. 
  • Tracking test defects through to closure
  • Preparing Test Data and maintaining existing test artifacts. 
  • Coordinating and liaising with relevant parties for project related items.
  • Supporting the customer team members during and after implementation.
  • Coordinating team activities  and prepare status reports
