Process Assessment
The typical process involves Promantia consultants working with the leadership team to understand the key area of focus, the goals to be met and challenges to be overcome. They then work with organization representatives to identify root cause of the issues and to recommend solutions to address these goals.
In executing these engagements, the consultants use frameworks like Theory of Constraints and Kepner Tregone as well as facilitation techniques for interviews/workshops with customer teams. Solutions in many cases come from within the organization, when they are supported with structured analysis approaches
Promantia also helps in implementing the changes identified, especially when these are related to system gaps/requirements. In other cases, the team would set a governance/tracking model for execution and would optionally provide review capabilities
Systems Audit
When systems are identified as the bottleneck for a successful execution of business plans, Promantia recommends a systems audit/assessment to review the systems in place.
Factors that get considered include system support/impediments to meet current goals, it’s ability to evolve to meet future goals, gaps with optimal usage, risks and issues in implementation.
The audit report would also include a recommendation section which would include specific recommendations in some cases and recommended alternate approaches, with approaches linked to business goals
Defining Technology Roadmap
Promantia works with companies to help business leaders define technology/system plans that align and support the achievement of their business goals.
There are typically focused on SMEs who have strong domain knowledge and business vision but need external support in making the right technology choices.
Approach
Highly collaborative – the approach for all these engagements is for the consultants to engage and bring out the subject matter expertise in the business using structured techniques and tools. They would then incorporate the customer’s insights regarding industry best practices with their understanding of technology choices in defining the recommendations.
Ownership – Promantia looks at consulting as a prerequisite activity, so that the right problem to solve is defined first and in most cases also take responsibility to deliver against the recommendation.
Dipstick across the organization – While many of the engagements are initiated with discussions with executives/senior management, the team almost always engage with down the line staff to get an across the organization perspective and identify any dichotomy between the management and the execution teams.
